Trinidad Junior Carnival

This Carnival, for the very first time, I have two toddlers in my Trinidad Carnival group and these two-year olds will be playing mas for the second time (their first stint was Toronto in August). I’m a firm believer in introducing Carnival to children as young as possible and hopefully turn them into lifelong Trinidad and Tobago Carnival enthusiasts. This is just one small way to ensure that Carnival remains important historically and culturally.
There are several junior Carnival parades in Trinidad and Tobago and I must say that I’m jealous of the number of opportunities the little ones have to parade.

Sunday, February 5 at noon – St. Andrews College Kiddies Carnival, Westmoorings

Saturday, February 11 at 9:00 am – Red Cross Kiddies Carnival, Queen’s Park Savannah

Sunday, February 12 at 1:30 pm – St. James Street Kiddies Parade

Saturday, February 18 at 7:00 am– Junior Parade of Bands, Lower St. Vincent Street to Queen’s Park Savannah

My toddlers will be gracing the stage with Boissiere Village Children's Band. For information contact Angelee Sammy at 785-7424/290-2713.
