Where to stay for 2012 Trinidad Carnival?

Still looking for 2012 Trinidad Carnival accommodation? It’s late to not have your accommodation confirmed but here are 3 hotels that still have spaces:

I can personally recommend this hotel. Great location close to Queen’s Park Savannah. The hotel is relatively new so the décor is quite modern. The rooms are clean and spacious and the bathrooms are quite nice. I found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. The downside is that they only had rooms with one queen or king bed and they don’t have roller away beds or cots. So if you’re travelling with someone you don’t want to share a bed with you’re out of luck. And of course, at this time of the year, you must pay in full when you book and it’s non-refundable. The Trinidad Hilton hotel is also close to the Queen’s Park Savannah. The rooms are smaller than Carlton Savannah’s but a good size. The staff, especially those in the restaurant, are very friendly. However, pay attention to the restaurant dress code. My friend was once politely asked to leave on one occasion. Unfortunately, the rooms available have one king bed and little to no probably of getting two beds. So once again, you’ll be sharing a bed with your travel buddy. You’ll also have to pay in full with Expedia and it’s non-refundable. If you book directly with Hilton you’ll have to stay a minimum of 5 nights, but you can book for 4 nights with Expedia. Holiday Inn Express - Trincity – USD$1672 for 5 nights from February 17 – 22 including breakfast.

If Trinidad Hilton or Carlton Savannah is full or location is not a priority, then the Holiday Inn Express is for you. The hotel is close to the airport and a distance from fetes, jouvert and Carnival Monday and Tuesday parade of the bands. The good news is that they do have rooms with two queen beds.
